Class Descriptions Living Our Purpose: This new program focuses on the relationship between spiritual practice and the manifestation of our individual purpose. We begin by focusing on spiritual practice, the distinct roles of prayer and meditation, how to cultivate deep listening to hear the impulse of our deepest desire and how to partner with God through the sweet Dance of will and surrender. In the second session, we will explore how the sound current (mantra) tunes our vibration and strengthens our connection to our Source enabling us to overcome self-imposed limitation. Specifically, we will cultivate practices to heal the past, expand our hearts to invite forgiveness, maintain the balance of single-pointed focus and instill the courage to move forward. Finally, in the last session, we will design and implement a 40-day spiritual practice to begin cultivating our deepest joy to invite the manifestation of our purpose into creation. The Spiritual Path of Yoga This class will use kriyas (exercises), pranayama (breathwork) and mantras (chants) to address specific challenges common to all on the spiritual journey and to cultivate the courage to transform such challenges into rich compost for a more beautiful life. Appropriate for all levels from beginner to those more experienced. This is a gentle yoga class which combines hatha and kundalini traditions and introduces various forms of meditation. It is perfect for both beginners and for those more experienced looking for a slower pace as well as an eclectic experience of yoga and meditation traditions.
The Beauty of Gentle Kripalu Yoga & The Heart of Traditional Meditation This class is perfect for the beginner to yoga and for those looking for a more gentle and slower pace. Each week, traditional yoga postures will be practiced and various forms of traditional sitting meditation will be introduced. Emphasis is placed on conscious awareness of the breath and the internal spiritual practice of radical self-acceptance. The first Wednesday night of the month, we invite the public to come and experience the Dances of Universal Peace. As this is not a regular class, we simply ask for a donation which is lovingly offered to the Dance leaders and musicians. Come and explore, in a very informal and friendly atmosphere, how sweet it is to embody the mantra prayers in these beautiful dances. And, of course, absolutely no dance experience is necessary — only a light heart to enjoy!
